Rocky Mountain Field Hockey

Winter Indoor Season

Winter 2025

Every winter Rocky plays indoor field hockey. Indoor field hockey moves much quicker than outdoor field hockey as it's played on a court. Playing indoor field hockey helps develop individual skills such as eliminations, trapping the ball, and operating in a small space. It also helps teams learn how to play together as a unit. Don't worry if you've never played indoor field hockey before, we're excited to teach you!

Practice Groups

At Rocky, we aim to have a great coach-to-player ratio to ensure every athlete feels seen and gets individualized coaching. As we continue to grow, we see the need to have two practice groups to make sure our athletes are learning the right skills and are challenged without being frustrated. For our winter session, we split into two age groups with some overlap between the two groups on Saturdays.

  • Our U16 program is open to all athletes from middle school to sophomore year of high school. It is focused on fundamental skill development and building field hockey IQ.
  • Our U19 program is open to all juniors, seniors, and select other athletes (by invitation). This group is meant to challenge Rocky athletes with high-intensity play and game strategy.

Play Days

Our goal is to play competitive hockey as much as possible! The cost of play days with our friends at the Bears, is factored into the the cost of winter session. Play days will be open to all Rocky athletes and will be held at least once monthly.
